Undergraduate programmes
We appreciate that considering career options for when you finish university can be daunting. With so many roles, routes and companies to consider it can be difficult to know where to start.
That’s why we have developed programmes to give ambitious undergraduates first-hand experience of working on live projects and discover what a career at Mace can offer.
For three years running Mace has been ranked as a top 100 undergraduate employer by ‘Rate My Placement’ (in 2018 Mace was ranked 23rd), so whether you’re looking for a summer or industrial placement joining us to experience what a career at Mace could be like will set you in good stead for your future.

Our industrial placements offer students the opportunity to undertake work experience for a year as part of a sandwich degree course.
We offer placements across a range of disciplines that reflect the diverse sectors and services at Mace.
After completing a one day induction at our head office in London, you will be placed on a live project where you will put what you have learned at university into practice under the guidance of industry leading professionals.
On the job training will give you the support you need alongside a structured programme of training events, site visits, networking opportunities and mentoring, to make the most of your placement before you take your newly acquired knowledge back to your studies. You can even start working towards a professional chartership during your placement year.
What happens after the placement?
Successful placements will have the opportunity to accelerate onto the Graduate Programme.
Our 10-week summer placements offer undergraduates who are in their first, second or penultimate year of university, practical work experience to support their studies over the summer break.

Our insight week is a fantastic opportunity for first and second year undergraduate students who are interested in a career in the construction industry but unsure which roles might suit them.
The week is designed to give you an overview of Mace, discuss your career opportunities and introduce you to some of our current and former graduates and senior colleagues.
You will receive presentations on our services and take part in interactive workshops. Visits to some of Mace’s iconic projects, both live and complete, will help you to understand how and why we do what we do.
Before you leave us we’ll work with you to improve your CV writing skills and take you through some mock interview and assessment centres so that you feel confident to take your first steps in your career.
What happens after the week?
High performers will be contacted to apply for graduate or undergraduate opportunities. Having this week’s experience with us will give you an advantage if you apply for future opportunities with Mace.
