We’ve been breaking global records in this sector for decades. Our aim? To deliver well-designed, sustainable, smart homes and developments. The outcome? Living places that thrive and place the community at the heart of the vision.
From apartments in space-constrained urban cores to new towns creating new sustainable communities. Expanding a city’s commuter belt to responding to the need for build-to-rent, retirement, affordable and student living. The sector is diverse and has always required innovative delivery. Climate change, population growth, viability and economic shifts mean that a clear vision and strategy have never been more important. Couple that with the need for ever more meaningful community engagement while also finding new ways to define comfort and practicality and the challenge becomes clear.
Our response to this challenge is our strong record of delivering complex and world-leading urban development projects. An ability to leverage our expertise in development advisory, urban planning, project management and sustainable design. Our focus on forward-thinking design, efficiency and best practice. Simplified installation, pioneering pre-fabrication, pushing the boundaries of pace as well as quality. Delivering residential property more quickly, efficiently and to a higher standard than ever before. Consultants, contractors, experts. Transforming the market and the industry one pioneering project at a time.
Affordable housing. Stable homes.
Economic stability. Social stability. Community benefits. Affordable housing provides so much for so many. From notable cost savings for Hackney Homes in 2005 to a creative social housing model Greenwich Square and our more recent work unlocking unviable sites in Stoke and releasing disused waterfront land in Liverpool for housing. We have been working with clients for decades to create healthier, more stable, and prosperous communities. Helping bring their ambitious strategies to life. Offering multi-disciplinary expertise, a focus on sustainable and resilient design and a commitment to creating affordable housing solutions. Meeting the essential needs of communities and fostering social stability across the UK and the globe.
High Rise Solutions
Our approach to developing Plot No.8 of the East Village came in the shape of the UK’s first rising factory. The six-storey ‘jump factory’, built around the tower, created an indoor construction site – improving noise, reducing safety risks and preventing environmental delays. With unprecedented speed, each floor was constructed in just one week and, thanks to pioneering pre-fabrication, we broke records - using creative solutions and techniques at every turn. The factory-style construction method has transformed our approach to residential housing projects and is being further developed for even faster and safer construction delivery.
Setting a new world standard
Determined to do our own part and help our clients to reverse the climate crisis, we are used to targeting green certifications such as BREEAM, WELL, NABERS and more with our premium office builds. As commercial building owners prioritise operational efficiency and sustainability, more and more are looking to retrofit as an option for modernising outdated facilities. The team at Mace contains unique knowledge and experience, spearheaded by our 220-strong sustainability consultancy team, allowing us to deliver green office space at the project, programme or portfolio level.
Mixed schemes. Lasting legacies.
Our experience of mixed-use residential projects is vast and global. From Cape Town to Dubai, London to Glasgow. For decades, we’ve delivered projects that blend residential, commercial, retail, and cultural uses. That enhance urban living. Create vibrant, integrated communities. We are currently using that experience and expertise and translating it on some of the most exciting, diverse projects in the UK. From a current four-site, 600-home – 20% affordable - residential scheme with Manchester City Council to a brownfield site making up a key part of Liverpool City Council’s wider housing strategy. Schemes of exemplary design, quality place-making and sustainability.
