We create innovative, practical solutions to meet the challenges of complex healthcare estates, for improved patient outcomes.
Healthcare systems are under strain. With unprecedented demand from growing and aging populations, resources and budgets are being stretched more than ever before. At the same time, new healthcare standards are transforming how care is delivered. Shifting from acute sites to more integrated, digital and neighbourhood-based approaches.
New facilities must meet these changing expectations. They must also be built to support new technologies and resist natural disasters. A vulnerable healthcare system can’t perform when it’s needed most.
The design and delivery of future facilities is fundamental. We have determined how these complex facilities must be delivered to ensure success. Speed and sustainability. Planned and partnered. These are the keys.
We understand that hospital construction presents significant challenges. Prolonged timelines. from concept to operation can often span over a decade. This cannot remain the norm. It is essential that healthcare leaders choose to work with mature, experienced partners who understand their environments and can deliver effectively within them. Mace is that partner.
By working in partnership with our clients and seeking input from end-users every step of the way, our design, delivery and construction experts create facilities that are fit for the future while supporting better standards of care. Through modern methods of construction and digital and data at the heart of our delivery, Mace has the expertise and experience to support you in delivering adaptable, future-proofed estates.
The need for speed in transformation
By collating knowledge gathered across the globe, and leveraging innovative solutions such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), we have successfully accelerated the construction process when it comes to hospitals. This is how we delivered Chulucanas Hospital, in Peru, well ahead of traditional timelines. What once took anywhere from 7-9 years in Peru was accomplished in just three, significantly enhancing the capacity of healthcare systems to meet the growing demands of communities.
Managing complex programmes and projects
At Mace, we’re extremely practiced in the delivery of complex programme and project healthcare programmes. Through our delivery partner model, we can drive delivery against multiple projects or project elements, liaising directly with stakeholders and contractors to ensure a programmatic, whole system approach. We work to educate and coach clients and partners to maximise benefits and proactively manage capital expenditure. Defined construction plans are needed to ensure smooth project and programme delivery, especially as environments go live.
Operational use: our North Star
For communities is need of bolstered healthcare capabilities, the most significant milestone of the project is the point at which they occupy the building. Our project teams are acutely aware of this and have experience of equipment procurement and the careful coordination and delivery of the operational commissioning programme. They will work to ensure a smooth transition and ‘soft landing’ takeover of the operational facility.
Public sector frameworks
For us, the benefits of public sector frameworks are undeniable. Tried and tested, the value of the programmes and projects we have successfully delivered through frameworks is immense. As programme and project delivery consultants and construction experts, as skilled collaborators with the support of an enviable supply chain – we bring fresh thinking and challenge where they are needed. We can deliver, from inception to completion. We have and promote the culture and behaviours that are vital for successful, innovative and collaborative partnerships. We give our clients confidence, tailored solutions and mutual benefits.
