Como to deliver fit out of new tower in the heart of the City

Como has won a prestigious appointment with Stanhope and Mitsui Fudosan to deliver the Cat A fit out of the 24 floors of One Angel Court. Located in the Bank Conservation Area in the heart of the City of London, the development will provide much needed new commercial office and retail space.

Starting onsite this month, Como’s work includes architecturally, the installation of all new suspended and plasterboard ceilings with some fantastic details in the octagonal tower and new raised access floors across the 300,000 sq.ft. of office space. MEP services include life safety and air conditioning systems as well as installing over 5,000 separate light fittings and more than 70km of cabling!

Mace was appointed construction manager for the project in 2014 to deliver the redevelopment of the 1970s office building, which has included stripping back the octagonal tower to its core, with the building then reclad with floor to ceiling glazing.

Como’s appointment builds on its already strong relationship with Stanhope, following their recent completion of the developer’s new HQ at 100 New Oxford Street, as well as benefitting from the in-house expertise of the Mace team already onsite.

Trevor Bacon, Business Unit Director at Como, said: ”This is a fantastic win for Como and allows us to build on our relationshp with Stanhope, as well as the great work Mace is already doing at One Angel Court. I’m deligted we’re working on such a highly anticipated development.”

The completed development will see a spectacular double height entrance over 9,000 sq ft and will provide c. 300,000 sq. ft. of high quality office accommodation, including 6 ‘Garden’ and 18 ‘Sky’ floors with a total of 5 terraces, enhanced ground floor retail and public realm.
