Mace gets ready for delivery at EDF’s Hinkley Point C
Mace welcomes today’s announcement from the Government, paving the way for the start of construction of EDF’s new nuclear power station, Hinkley Point C in Somerset. As one of the framework providers supporting NEC contract management and project and construction management services for off-site works, Mace looks forward to continuing to work on the HPC project.
Jason Millett, COO for Major Programmes and Infrastructure at Mace, said: “Giving the go ahead for Hinkley Point C is the right decision for Britain. Not only will it create over 25,000 new jobs and opportunities for local, national and international businesses, but it sends a clear message that we are investing in our future and open for business. It will also give a much needed confidence boost for the construction sector as a whole.” Mace has previously supported the project through delivery of various project and construction management services.”
Hinkley Point C will be the first new build nuclear power station for over 20 years in the UK. The proposed power station will provide reliable, low carbon electricity to meet 7% of UK demand.
