Practical delivery in focus for the year ahead

3 min read

We’re halfway through the second month of the year, and one year into delivering against our five-year business strategy. Although the built environment made a recovery from the 2020 recession, it continued to face challenges across 2021. Variants, vaccine shortages, lockdowns, delays, uncertainty.

It’s been two years of difficulties, but there is an urgency to reboot, rebuild, transform and level up – and to do it sustainably. Growth is on the horizon, particularly in regions like Asia Pacific, North America and the Middle East. In fact, the global construction market is predicted to reach US$15.2 trillion by 2030.

What the pandemic has made clear to us is that a forward-looking mindset and hands-on experience are crucial differentiators to success. We are project and programme delivery consultants. Our people sit at the heart of everything we do. They are a force of nature, diverse and talented, leveraging their practical delivery expertise across five global hubs every day to ensure positive outcomes for our clients.

It's part of Mace’s DNA to be delivery-focused, roll up our sleeves and go the extra mile. We know that theoretical solutions can only fix half the problem. The other half comes with practical experience.

Never has a steadfast commitment to delivery mattered more than it has over the past two years. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, our global team of consultants has continued to help our clients move projects and programmes forward with agility, focus and determination. No hurdle too great to overcome. When borders were closed and airplanes stranded, they mobilised remotely, using digital technology to monitor progress on site, finding sustainable solutions and increasing productivity.

The built environment is dynamic and varied. Despite this, there is a common need for safe and on-time completions, for budgets to be met, for quality standards to be upheld. Our people integrate within our client organisations to drive productivity, upskill local supply chains and ensure a meaningful transfer of knowledge – learning and sharing as they go.

As some of the dust settles on the last two years, we reflect on the incredible accomplishments by every individual at Mace Consult. The breadth and depth of our people and their exceptional commitment to providing our clients with the best outcome possible has been commendable.
