NAB office space in record time in Ho Chi Minh City

As one of Australia’s largest private foreign investors in Vietnam, National Australia Bank (NAB) has opened a new, bigger office in Ho Chi Minh City to support its expanded technology workforce in Vietnam.  The new office is a pivotal part of NAB’s operations, signifying its long-term commitment in Vietnam and supporting local talent to pursue career opportunities in technology.

Mace was selected to support the delivery of this project because of its capability to overcome challenges and deliver complex developments on time and on budget, even in tight timeframes. With a target delivery time of 13 months, and local and international holidays to consider, like Christmas, New Years, and the local Vietnamese holiday Tet, NAB needed a team with experience coordinating large scale builds with extreme efficiency. A condensed timeframe didn’t mean forgoing sustainability considerations either, with the team targeting LEED Gold certification for the NAB’s new office.

The management team from Mace expertly coordinated with the client, consultants, contractors and suppliers to expedite wherever possible while guaranteeing quality. Achieving such a feat hinges as much on soft team dynamics, such as culture and trust, as much as it does on processes and tools. Open and early communication was key to resolving any issues that arose before they could cause hinderances or delays. Mace ensured the entire team felt supported, in the loop and listened to.

With every project team empowered with the resources and tools they needed to complete their function, everybody involved felt compelled to deliver above and beyond, finding solutions for any challenge. As a result, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam was delivered within the agreed timeframe, to all of the agreed specifications, including a LEED Gold Certification.
