Since our initial appointment in 2008 to refurbish a depot in Derbyshire, our enduring partnership with Severn Trent Water (STW) has seen us deliver a continuous stream of project management services. These efforts have significantly improved STW’s office accommodation, depots, and water and wastewater infrastructure.
Our achievements include managing the development of STW’s state-of-the-art regional headquarters and conducting cost appraisals and feasibility studies for various facilities. Notably, we developed an award-winning office and depot in Shelton, West Midlands, which introduced a standardised ‘model depot’ design. This innovation has led to new working methods, cost efficiencies, and reduced construction times.
Recently, we secured a 10-year cost and commercial management framework covering three asset management periods (AMP5, AMP6, and AMP7), with a capital expenditure exceeding £6 billion. This framework includes enhancing procurement processes to ensure STW delivers the best value to its customers.
Our seconded team within STW’s commercial division has been instrumental in evaluating data and costs, benchmarking time and expenses, and reviewing procurement routes and supplier prices. This meticulous approach has resulted in significant savings and efficiency improvements.
Key project stats include a £6 billion capital investment, a 30% reduction in energy use at Shelton offices and depot, and £50 million in procurement savings. Our dedicated framework director and manager ensure clear communication and prompt responses to STW’s needs, while our innovative tools and efficient building designs continue to drive success.
This project exemplifies our commitment to efficiency, value, and sustainability for Severn Trent Water and its customers.
