Project story
As the development manager on Westferry Printworks we are leading this project that will see an unused site in London transformed into a vibrant community hub.
Situated on the water’s edge on the Isle of Dogs, the site occupies almost 15 acres. It was the largest printing works in Europe until the business relocated in 2011.
We are leading the project from the planning stage, through demolition and construction delivery, and into occupation. With the planning consent granted, demolition work will take place over the course of 2017.
The Westferry Printworks site will become home to over 700 new residential properties (140 of which will be affordable housing), a 1,200-space secondary school, a community centre, creche, sports and healthcare facilities, commercial office space and a mix of independent retailers, restaurants and bars.
With 75% of the site designed to feature beautifully landscaped outside space, the community will be able to enjoy the luxury of two new parks and neatly created walkways on the attractive dockside, just minutes from Canary Wharf.
