Housing and regeneration

With increased demand for more and better local housing, the power of regeneration schemes to transform lives and local communities has been recognised.

At a time when public spending is under greater scrutiny and the importance on placemaking ever increasing, we can help you realise the social value of your existing assets while keeping current residents happy.

We are one of the G15 providers' go-to experts, helping them to overcome the complex challenges involved in providing high quality housing to 1 in 10 of London's residents with a home. We've also worked closely with the Homes and Communities Agency, Greater London Authority and the UK Department for Communities and Local Government. Our approach of picking a bespoke team and creating a custom project structure based on the challenges of each project, means we are better placed to bring cost and value certainty.

In 2005, Mace was appointed to deliver Hackney Homes' £300m upgrade scheme. Using our knowledge of the whole project lifecycle, we completed a comprehensive review of how Hackney was delivering its housing. Our collaborative approach alongside technical expertise found much needed cost savings of 8%, so that public money could go further to transform lives in this London borough.

why mace?

Unique delivery model

Building partnerships with our clients creates a unique collaborative approach to delivery. This close collaboration, right from the outset, means we identify, share and resolve problems at a grass-roots level while continually adapting the changing regeneration landscape. Our private and public sector experience means we can bring the best from both worlds to help manage project risk from programme to estate level.

Maximising social value

By working closely with our clients and local communities we have developed legacy plans and dedicated funds to make a tangible and measurable difference to local people. Whether it's a major road scheme, a new station with surrounding public realm, or a stadium venue, we can help create a scheme that benefits you, the public, and local residents.

Early engagement. Better results.

We are often brought in at the earliest stage of a regeneration project because of our understanding of the complete lifecycle of a project, from design right through to construction. This experience means that we understand the overall context and delivery of a regeneration project, which helps you, and what can be a complex range of stakeholders.

Consultancy and construction together

Our consulting and construction heritage means that we can bring our expertise to a regeneration project's entire plan from concept through planning, preconstruction, design, delivery and beyond. This makes us unique in our ability to deal simultaneously with the technical, planning, contractual, financial, and stakeholder management issues inherent in the delivery of so many regeneration schemes.

Effective stakeholder management

We understand the importance of managing expectations of the local community alongside clear, consistent and effective communication with wider stakeholders. Our experts have managed relationships with political and public stakeholders, while our approach means that we can give realistic guidance to residents on what is achievable - avoiding disappointment later.
