Stephen Jeffery appointed to the Mace Group Board

We are pleased to announce today that Stephen Jeffery will be joining the Mace Group Board in his role as our company-wide Chief Technical Officer.

As part of the actions we are taking to support the delivery of our 2022 Business Strategy (launched last year) a Group Technical Services team is also being established.

Stephen's promotion to the Mace Group Board is a public demonstration of how serious our commitment is to achieving this priority and to improve the service we offer to clients, better drawing on lessons from every part of the project lifecycle.

One of the four priorities outlined in Mace’s 2022 Business Strategy is to 'drive innovation to improve service excellence'. Alongside this we plan to invest 3% of our annual turnover in innovation and improve our service excellence KPIs by 20% year-on-year.

In the coming months Stephen will be working closely with our Head of Innovation, Matt Gough, our CIO Michelle Barkess, and Group Director for Corporate Strategy, Mandy Willis, to drive innovation through the business, improve the sharing of best practice to drive consistency and improve our productivity. All of which will result in an even better service for our clients.

Mark Reynolds, Mace's Chief Executive said:

"I am pleased to welcome Stephen to the Group Board. He has been a valuable part of the Mace team for over 20 years, but over the last 8 months he has proved the value and impact that the role of Chief Technical Officer can make.

Stephen's appointment to our Group Board will ensure that we can continue to pursue a better way of doing things, transform ourselves at pace and can continue to deliver on our clients’ ambitions for the future.”

Commenting on his appointment, Stephen Jeffery, Mace's Chief Technical Officer, said:

"I am absolutely delighted to accept this position on the Mace Group Board. I feel immensely proud to have started in this industry as an apprentice, joining Mace 23 years ago as an MEP Manager and to have now reached this position.

It shows that no matter what discipline you focus on during your career you can always diversify to suit your career aspirations and with the right support achieve your ambitions.

I look forward to supporting our clients on their journeys and bringing the very best practice and insight to their projects.”
