Mace Construct appoints interim Public Sector and Life Sciences lead
Mace, the global company of consultancy and construction experts, has appointed Rob Lemming as the new Managing Director for the Public Sector and Life Sciences business, within its Construct Engine, on an interim basis.
Rob’s role will involve temporarily overseeing work winning and project delivery for the business unit, while collaborating with the wider senior leadership team of Mace Construct to help them achieve their ambitious growth targets.
With over a decade of experience at Mace, Rob has already played a crucial role in the successful delivery of key projects for the company, including the Discovery Centre for AstraZeneca in Cambridge, and has helped grow Mace’s presence in the life sciences sector across the “Golden Triangle” (the leading life sciences cluster of London, Oxford and Cambridge).
Rob succeeds Terry Spraggett who stepped down from his position in December after 18 years with the company.
Rob Lemming, interim Managing Director for Public Sector and Life Sciences, Mace Construct said:
“I am thrilled to be taking the reins of our Public Sector and Life Sciences business unit at such a significant time for these crucial sectors.
“We are delivering some brilliant projects across the public sector from the new flagship police and judiciary hub for the City of London Corporation at Salisbury Square to the world class satellite testing facilities at Harwell in Oxfordshire.
“When it comes to life sciences, this is one the UK’s biggest growth sectors with an ever-growing demand for quality lab space. We are working with a number of clients across the golden triangle to build state-of-the-art research spaces enabling scientific research and discovery.”
Gareth Lewis, Chief Executive, Mace Construct, said:
“Rob has been absolutely dedicated to growing Mace’s capability in the life sciences sector over the last decade, and I’m pleased he is taking on this interim role as we look for a permanent placement.”
“Rob’s experience and knowledge of the industry will ensure continuity and consistency for all of our clients working on the iconic projects we are lucky to be building across the capital and beyond.”
Rob Lemming will serve as the interim Managing Director for the business unit while Mace runs an external and internal recruitment process over the coming months for the permanent appointment.
