Mace retains position on NHS Building for Wales Framework
Global programme and project delivery consultant and construction expert Mace has been appointed to the NHS Building for Wales 2 Framework to support the delivery of outstanding healthcare facilities with healthcare boards and trusts across Wales.
The NHS Building for Wales 2 Frameworks are the NHS Wales’ construction procurement and delivery frameworks for major capital projects with construction costs more than £7million. They deliver best value for money and development of best practice, sustainability, social value and other core objectives on behalf of the Welsh Government.
Mace has been appointed to Lot 1 for projects valued over £20 million and Lot 2 for projects valued from £7m to £20m, enabling the business to offer project management and cost management services to prospective clients. The appointment began in October 2024 for four years with an option to extend for a further two years.
First appointed to the previously named Designed for Life framework in 2006, Mace is delivering projects for a range of Health Boards throughout the region, including the Newport East Health Hub with Aneurin Bevan, the Maesteg Health and Wellbeing Centre for Cwm Taf Morgannwg and the Wrexham Make Ready Depot for Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
Andrew Waddington, Head of Building for Wales at NHS Building for Wales commented:
“The NHS Building for Wales 2 Framework is set up to support the Welsh Government’s construction policies through creating best practice models of procurement based on long-term strategic partnerships. Our history with Mace is testament to this approach."
Daniel Easthope, Managing Director for Property UK & Europe at Mace Consult, said:
“We know first-hand the significant challenges healthcare providers face in delivering facilities that meet the needs of their local communities now and long into the future. Through the NHS Building for Wales 2 Framework, we will continue to support Health Boards and Trusts across the country on projects that create better environments for patients and clinicians, enabling outstanding care across the country.”
